BARTA Theatre Academy is a performing arts academy that delivers the highest level of dance, vocal and drama training in 2 and 3 hour sessions for our students from the age 6 upwards.
Since 2012 BARTAs training has been outstanding, delivering creative classes and workshops combined the opportunity to perform in productions of the highest standards. Our facilitators in singing, dance and drama are constantly creating and adapting engaging sessions which directly respond to the needs of the group.
Our collective aim is to create confident and skilled performers who are adaptable and familiar with a diverse range of styles and performance techniques. Drama Our goal is to equip young people of all ages with skills in Drama in a structured and highly motivated environment. Classes are initially improvisational in nature at the younger age group, progressing into textual and structured work in the older age groups. We will look at method, technique, observation, script work, characterisation, mime and improvisation. Dance You will work towards an understanding of a variety of dance styles including musical theatre, contemporary, modern and street dance. Whether a complete beginner or experienced dancer you will find the classes interesting and challenging. Our aim is to involve and engage students in dance, providing the opportunity to create and choreograph their own individual and group routines using a number of techniques and dance styles. Singing It doesn’t matter how good or bad you think you are. At BARTA you will discover how to sing correctly, improve your technical ability, and develop your skills as a performer to reach your full potential as a solo and group singer. Students will initially be introduced to basic vocal techniques, confidence and performance skills building, progressing to vocal technique development with our oldest groups focusing heavily on vocal technique and complex harmony. The environment is a lively social framework in which students learn to work with and support other performers whilst developing their own skills. |
